DESCRIPTION
The Edmund Fitzgerald 729 ft. , built in 1958, is the most famous of modern day Great Lakes shipwrecks. It broken apart and sank during a violent storm off Whitefish Point in Lake Superior on November 10, 1975. All 29 crewmen were lost. For 17 years, Edmund Fitzgerald carried taconite iron ore from mines near Duluth, Minnesota, to iron works in Detroit, Toledo, and other Great Lakes ports.
Our master craftsmen handcrafted this nicely detailed model from scratch using drawings/original plans and other finest woods and material to build this model. Also, we use the plank-on-frame construction method which is similar to the building of the actual ship. Furthermore, we applied multi-layered paint to match the color of the real ship. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish then must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. She is mounted on a solid wood base and ready to display. It’ll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector.
